
Updated November 14, 2012: A federal report says a southwest Missouri plane crash that killed two men may be linked to mechanical problems.
The crash happened November 4 in Stotts City, killing Richard Armstrong of Neosho and Royce Edwards II of Joplin.
The National Transportation Board's preliminary report says a witness saw fluid spewing out of the plane's right engine about 25 minutes after take-off.
The pilot was trying to find a place to land when the plane pitched upward, rolled, then crashed.
Reported November 6, 2012: The victims of a fatal plane crash on Sunday in Lawrence County, Missouri have been identified.
Richard Armstrong Jr., 50 of Neosho, and Royce Edwards II, 41 of Joplin, died in the crash.
Authorities say the small plane took off from Monett Airport and went down in a wooded area.
Investigators say a preliminary report on the crash is expected in about five days.
