Carthage Y prepares for Saturday fundraiser

The Carthage Fair Acres Family YMCA is hosting auctions to raise money for charity scholarships.

Organizers set up today for the YMCA's silent and live auction tomorrow.

They have a whole list of activities planned for the fundraiser including a children's party, food, and music from the MSSU jazz ensemble.

The funds will help with after school care and will help residents get involved with the Y.

"A lot of people can't afford a Y membership and we still want people in the community to be able to come to the Y and workout and have a sense of community here," says volunteer Amanda Stone.

The event starts at 6 p.m. Saturday at the Carthage YMCA.

Their fundraising goal is $10,000.
