The Parsons Police Department investigates a string of purchases made with counterfeit money happening over the last month and a half.
Police say that about $1,600 worth of counterfeit $20's, $50's and $100's have been collected from four to five area businesses.
Residents selling items on Craigslist have also complained receiving the fake money as payments.
Terry Edie is the general manager of a McDonalds in Parsons and says they were hit with the counterfeit bills last week.
"A week ago we had received two deposits that we had taken in, in large denominations, it was $20's and $50's that were counterfeit, then was notified through the bank and was turned over to the Parsons Police Department," says Edie.
Police say they're still looking for the suspects.
