City leaders in Pittsburg are discussing the ability to have trash services bid for four sectors of the city.
This would make trash pickup a city utility, which would be added to the water bill.
Trash haulers are against the idea, saying it would put them out of business. They believe the jobs will be given primarily to large corporate haulers.
"We're just kind of tired of having the city pick on us every two or three years about something and we're just wanting to run our business and do our job - just kind of be left alone and not have to worry about this kind of stuff no more," says Chris Norris of Norris Trash Service.
A public input meeting began at 5:30 p.m. this evening.
