"Share the Road" sign put up at location where man was killed on bicycle

Updated:

A local biking awareness group, Look 4 States (on Facebook), unveils the first "Share the Road" sign at Ivy Road and County Road 215 near Webb City.

The sign was put up in honor of Larry Jones, who was killed while riding his bicycle at the intersection in July 2010.

The group was created out of Rufus Racing and has been raising money to fund not only these signs, but local PSA's as well.

Wednesday would have been Larry's 49th birthday.

"I ride with his helmet, so he's always with me and so these signs mark the start of hopefully many more signs, many more campaigns, many more cycling groups," says Mark Morris.

There were two signs put up and the intersection.  One was paid for by donations and Larry's family.  The second sign was paid for by Jasper County.
