The Newton County Food Basket Brigade launched it's Christmas 2012 campaign today.
The goal of the campaign is to collect 120,000 pounds of food.
The event held at the annual community food drive's official kickoff at Clark Funeral Home in Neosho featured a check presentation from Fred Clark, who donated $3,500 representing proceed from the 16th annual Tree of Memories program.
"It feels real good, you know, it makes you appreciate what you have and makes you appreciate the fact that you've helped somebody else," says Clark.
So far organizers say they have received over 300 sign ups for the program.
