Rebuild Joplin calls out for more volunteers

Updated:

Rebuild Joplin hosted an open house today.  Local business and community leaders celebrated the organizations success and got a behind-the-scenes look at how rebuild operates.

The non-profit organization works to repair and rebuild homes damaged in last year's tornado.

Participants also had a chance to learn about volunteer opportunities and homeowner qualifications.

"Right now we are a little bit low on volunteer numbers, so what we would love to do is plea to this community to call our office, visit our office, sign up to volunteer," says Director Jerrod Hogan.  "We've got a bunch of construction projects going on right now that need volunteer support and if we can get the volunteers we need between now and Christmas, we can get a couple more families home for the holidays."

So far Rebuild Joplin has completed 27 homes and hopes to have 100 homes completed by March.
