No injuries in Joplin fire

Updated at 3:15 PM CST:  Renters of the home tell us the female resident was in the shower at the time when the fire started and was alerted to it by a sudden drop in water pressure.  The male resident found her clothes and they both exited the home safely.

The renters say the fire occurred in the back of the home in the bedroom.

They have been told it was most likely an electrical fire.

Posted November 23, 2012 at 2:31 PM CST:  Late this morning the Joplin Fire Department was called to a structure fire at 2120 East Nashville.

The call came in at 10:29 a.m. and by 11:00 a.m. crews had put out the fire at the residence.

In a news release Joplin Fire Chief Mitch Randles says fire and smoke damage was severe, however, there were no injuries.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
