Joplin third graders use Skype to learn about college life at MSSU

Columbia Elementary third grade students got the opportunity to Skype with students from Missouri Southern State University today.

The kids asked questions about college, ranging from classes to campus life, giving the third graders a look into the possibility of college.

"They gave them advice as far as making smart choices now and what you want to do later in life, decide on that track, where you can work on it as early as elementary school," says Libbie Burd, a third grade teacher at Columbia Elementary.

The Skype session was part of the Operation College Bound initiative at Columbia Elementary.
