77,000 cans of food donated to area food banks

Updated:

Pallets and pallets of food were delivered today to help five area food banks, including the Salvation Army in Joplin.

Over 77,000 cans of food were distributed in all.

Regional food bank directors and Downstream Casino Resort headed the campaign.

"I probably have cried three or four times today," says John Berrey of Downstream Casino.  "It makes you feel good and it makes you respect people who work in these food banks.  They sacrifice so much of their time for people  that are in need."
