A shooting range brings gunmen together to collect toys for children in need this holiday season.
As shots were fired -- toys were collected.
In order to participate in the 3rd annual toy box shoot -- the gunman were required to bring a toy as the entry fee. Some more than one.
Around 40 men participated in Saturday's event in Galena, Kansas.
One man says he is glad he can make a difference for a child this Christmas and has even made the event a tradition with his friends.
"Its about giving back to the community," said Chief Tommy Kitch, Duquesne Police Dept. "We understand that not everybody has an enjoyable Christmas so we try to make it a little more enjoyable for everybody."
"It's kind of a bonus thing you know we really enjoy shooting and kids get gifts for Christmas so its good for everybody," said David Cunningham, participant.
All the toys will be donated the KOAM Toy Box drive.
Then right before Christmas the toys will be given to the Salvation Army to be distributed to area families that are in need.
