Attempted murder charges filed against Pittsburg resident

Updated February 12, 2013 at 5:45 PM CST:  The Crawford County prosecutor's office says Billy Dee Durden, 25, has been charged with attempted 2nd degree murder in the shooting of Ronal Wright.

Updated February 12, 2013 at 4:45 PM CST:  A suspect in a Pittsburg shooting from December has been taken into custody.

A news release from the Pittsburg Police Department says a 25 year old Pittsburg man was arrested this morning on an Attempted 2nd Degree Murder Warrant.

He is suspected of shooting Ronal Wright in December at a Casey's General Store on South Broadway.  Authorities say a fight broke out, followed by gunfire with multiple shots being fired in front of the business with Wright being shot in the leg.

The suspect also faces charges of parole violation, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Updated December 14, 2012 at 5:05 PM CST:  Investigators have identified the victim in a shooting last weekend in Pittsburg.

The shooting happened at a Casey's General Store on South Broadway Saturday morning.  Authorities say a fight broke out, followed by gunfire with multiple shots being fired in front of the business with one person shot in the leg.

Authorities say the victim, who originally said he was someone else, has been identified as Ronal Wright, 21 of Pittsburg.

Pittsburg police say they also have a suspect in the case and they are attempting to locate.

Updated December 10, 2012 at 4:10 PM CST:  Pittsburg police say a man shot in the leg early Saturday morning originally identified himself as Trent Cobb, 22 of Kansas City.

However, in a statement released this afternoon the Pittsburg Police Department says that victim provided false information regarding his identity.

They are now working to positively identify the shooting victim.

Created December 8, 2012 at 5:14 PM CST:  Pittsburg police are investigating a shooting involving a fight and gunfire at a convenience store, which put one man in the hospital.

The incident occurred at the Casey's store on South Broadway around 4:30 AM Saturday morning. Police reported that multiple shots were fired after a fire outside the business.

22 year old Trent Cobb of Kansas City was shot once in the leg. However he had already been driven to the hospital.

He's now reported in stable condition. Police are trying to piece together what happened and who was involved.
