Missouri legislation addresses Costs for Housing Inmates & Boost in Pay

A Missouri committee is hearing from Sheriff's across the state asking the legislature to address costs for housing inmates as well as a boost in pay.

The committee has focused on mandates on sheriffs and county jails, salaries and requiring candidates have a peace officers license before filing.

Legislation is expected to be proposed for lawmakers to take up when they return in January for the 2013 session.
