Tampa Family Health Centers, one of the largest community health centers in the Tampa Bay region, announced today the expansion of their Obstetrics (OB) care to five (5) days a week at the Osborne/22nd Street location.
Tampa Family Health Centers Patient Centered Medical Home (PCMH) model allows multiple generations to have high quality, affordable healthcare. Beginning December 17, the Osborne/22nd Street Center’s health care model will include comprehensive OB services such pre-natal counseling, routine OB exams, midwife delivery, free childbirth classes, lactation support, post-partum follow-up, and counseling.
“We work hard to maintain quality, affordable health care to residents of Hillsborough County,” says Charles Bottoms, CEO, Tampa Family Health Centers. “As such, we recognized that obstetrics care was a growing need in our community and we want to assure women that they no longer have to worry about not receiving proper health care during their pregnancy,” said Bottoms.
Tampa Family Health Centers serves its OB patients with personal, one-on-one support and a commitment to promoting best practices for optimal health and wellness during pregnancy. “Our midwives provide the mothers-to-be with individualized and compassionate care. They are hands-on during the entire pregnancy all the way through the labor and delivery,“ said Sherry Hoback, Director of Nursing. “Our Nursing team also helps the Moms transition into the busy world of motherhood by outreaching to them to schedule their post-partum follow up, as well as making an appointment for the baby to come see one of our fantastic Pediatricians. From day one, we are there for the mother and baby,” said Hoback.
The Osborne/22nd Street Center will continue to offer full-service medical care to men, women, children, adolescents and seniors. Routine adult and pediatric check-ups, walk-in treatment of acute illnesses, lab draw station, pharmacy, dental, and other health care services are available to the public.
