News release from the City of Parsons:
PARSONS, KS --- On Friday, a tip led Parsons Police to question two men in conjunction with two recent home burglaries. Officers questioned an 18-year-old Parsons man and a 29-year-old, Parsons man after finding several stolen guns and four chainsaws in their possession.
Officers matched the guns and chainsaws to reports from two separate burglaries between December 3 and 6. The reported incidents happened within three blocks of each other on South 32nd Street in Parsons.
A subsequent investigation revealed that the two individuals had been scrapping metal from around town for income when the burglaries occurred. Police also discovered additional guns and ammunition during the investigation.
The case is currently under investigation and has been sent to the Labette County Attorney's Office for review and issuing charges.
