Quapaw man dies in explosion

A Quapaw, Oklahoma man is dead following an explosion at his home over the weekend.

Troy Thompson, 43, died after a 55 gallon barrel exploded while he was cutting it with a plasma cutter.

The Ottawa County Sheriff's investigator says Thompson's neighbors called authorities after hearing a huge explosion.

Reports say the barrel contained an oily substance inside that ignited while Thompson was using the plasma cutter.
