Pittsburg Area Young Professionals collect toys for Toybox

Updated:

For the third year in a row the Pittsburg Area of Young Professionals collected toys for those in need.

The toys were collected today during their holiday luncheon at the Watco building in Pittsburg and go to the KOAM Toybox drive.  The Salvation Army will help distribute the toys.

The group also collected cash for the cause.

Members say that they don't mind helping out during the holidays because they're giving to those in need.

"There's a need out there for families who may not be able to afford Christmas gifts for their children and it gives us an opportunity to give back," says PAYP member Devin Gorman.  "We can support them with - through gift or monetary donations.  This is a real nice for us to do something during the holidays for our community."

The Young Professionals brought the toys to our studio today.

The group says they hope to collect even more toys for families in need next year.
