Train derailment closes streets in Joplin

A train derails in Joplin this morning closing down a number of streets until later today.

Two cars with a cargo train on the Missouri North Arkansas Track went off the tracks about 9:30 this morning.

The derailment happened between 5th and 6th on Murphy Boulevard.

Murphy is expected to be closed from 4th to 7th Streets until 5 p.m. today.  Minnesota Avenue is also shut down from 7th Street to Murphy Boulevard.

No one was injured in the derailment.
