Empire Electric donates van to Children's Haven

Empire District Electric company made a generous donation just in time for Christmas to the Children's Haven of Southwest Missouri.

The company donated a van to help transport children to the Haven.

The full-sized van will help deliver the more than 450 kids by Children's Haven to school, doctor appointments, field trips and other events.

"If we can take them to their soccer practice, to their ballet recitals, really just giving them that stable force in their life when everything else is so busy and chaotic with the family in crisis," says Stephanie Theis, the Executive Director of Children's Haven.

Children's Haven officials say with their new home opening next year more children will need transportation and this gift will allow them to do just that.
