Joplin man charged with illegal sexual contact with a 16 year old enters plea

Updated January 17, 2013:  A 25 year-old Joplin man charged with illegal sexual contact a 16 year old has plead not guilty to the charges against him.

Scott Morgan is charged with 2nd degree statutory sodomy.  Morgan entered the plea today and is scheduled to return to court on February 7.

Police say the Joplin High School principal contacted authorities after discovering messages on a school-issued computer that indicated a possible sexual relationship between a student and Morgan.  Morgan is not connected with the school.

Posted December 13, 2012:  A 25 year-old man is charged with illegal sexual contact with a 16 year old Joplin High School student.

Scott Morgan is charged with second degree statutory sodomy with his bond set at $10,000.

Joplin police say the high school principal contacted authorities after discovering messages on a school-issued computer that indicated a possible sexual relationship between the student and Morgan.

Morgan is not connected with the school.
