20 children, 6 others dead in elementary school shooting

Updated:

Twenty children and six adults are dead after a suspect opened fire at the Sandy Hook Elementary School where his mother worked in Newton, Connecticut.

Details are still sketchy as the investigation continues but CBS and FOX News are reporting the shooter is Adam Lanza, 20.  Lanza was found dead inside the school.

A dead body has also been found at a second location in Newton.

"We've endured too many of these tragedies in these past few years, and each time I receive the news I react not as a president, but as a parent," President Barack Obama said in an address to the nation.

CBS News is planning a special report from 9pm to 10pm this evening.
