Westside Elementary students in Pittsburg got a chance to learn about different careers today.
Community professionals including Pittsburg State coaches rotated between classrooms to explain what their career field is all about. Police officers and others talked with kindergartners through fifth grades on what their job entails on a day to day basis.
Organizers say it helps connect kids to adults in a field they may be interested in.
"Creates that community connection and helps kids understand good role models, the importance of being part of a community and building those community relationships," says Anna Le of Westside Elementary.
Kids heard from pilots, authorities, photographers and other professionals.
