Children from the Carl Junction School District get the chance to shop with cops.
The Carl Junction Police Department teams up with the school district to help low income children have a Christmas.
Each child has a hundred dollars to spend at the Walmart on Rangeline Road in Joplin.
Kids can buy gifts for their family, but are urged to pick up at least one gift for themselves.
The police department has several fundraiser's to pay for the event throughout the year and say it feels great to help out kids in need.
"I like the smile on the kids faces and the volunteers always have a good time and they come back year after year and it's always great to have it done, it's a little stressful putting it together to get this thing to go off and go off smoothly and it's a great feeling once it's done" says Police Chief Delmar Haase.
Carl Junction Police say it was a record breaking year for the event with two hundred and thirty three children participating.
