A 17 month old Carthage boy is in need of a "best friend" - a therapy dog.
Marcus Kauffman suffers from a chromosome disorder that has caused him to have continuous seizures since he was six months old.
This year for Christmas his family wants to get him a therapy dog. The dog would be able to help alert his parents if and when little Marcus is seizuring. In one previous instance a seizure lasted five hours.
Marcus' mother, Darlene, recalls the first time it happened at their home in Carthage.
"All I did was set him on the couch - I was walking into the bathroom to curl my hair and I had came back and he had had a seizure and from there it's just been, there's been so many I can't count," says Darlene.
