Autopsy shows Jasper County inmate died of natural causes

Updated December 19, 2012:  Richard Watson, 43 of Joplin, was found unresponsive Wednesday morning just aft 5 a.m. by authorities at the Jasper County Detention Center.

A preliminary autopsy shows Watson died of natural causes.

The sheriff's office says when Watson was found unresponsive, EMS was contacted but lifesaving efforts were not successful.

Posted December 18, 2012:  Richard Watson, 43 of Joplin, was found unresponsive this morning at the Jasper County Detention Center.

The Jasper County Sheriff's Office says EMS was contacted and lifesaving efforts were not successful.

No foul play is suspected at this time but an investigation is underway.  An autopsy is scheduled.
