Missouri governor visits Webb City to tout the state's export success

Updated:

Governor Jay Nixon today visited Southwest Missouri to announce the state's export success and commend a local manufacturing company.

Governor Nixon toured Cardinal Scale Manufacturing in Webb City, a company that makes scales and exports them to 110 countries across the globe.  The governor says Cardinal Scale is a model for global exports for other businesses.

During his visit Nixon highlighted Missouri's strong export record which he says has set records the past two years.

In the first three quarters of this year the state's export sales were $128 million above the first three quarters of last year.

Nixon commended Cardinal Scale for its global reach and says he wants to make sure all companies have what they need to compete globally.

"If we continue to sell more Missouri goods overseas we will continue to set more export records and more importantly create more jobs and more prosperity right here," says Governor Nixon.  "As I said from day one, I will continue to reach across the aisle, hold the line on taxes to work with businesses in every corner across our state and to keep our economy moving forward."
