Redwood Development unveils two homes built in Joplin

Updated:

Redwood Development today unveiled two newly built homes in Joplin.

The company held a ribbon cutting to show off the homes on Grand Avenue.  Construction was funded by the Missouri Housing Development Commission.

These are two of 38 homes being built as medium income homes available for residents to rent with the option to buy after 15 years.

Renters say it will allow them to give their family a nicer place to live.

"This house means that my kids will have a safe, wonderful place to grow up in that I would probably otherwise never be able to provide for them, being a single mom," says renter Tara Atherton.

The first homes were finished last month and the entire project is set to be completed by March.
