From Bethlehem to Joplin, the Peace Light makes a trip to town for the second year in a row.
For the last thousand years lights at the nativity scene is Bethlehem has had candles burning and about 23 years ago a child lit two lamps and brought those to the United States.
For the last year Peace Light Chairman and Eagle Scout Leader Jeff Cook has brought the light nine thousand miles across the county sharing it with others, Cook presented it to a local boy scout.
"The boys scouts of America always needs to be a part of this because we are a service organization, we give back to the community and the powers that we know when asked for the task to get it done, we get it done" says Cook.
The light will stop next in Kansas City on Monday and Springfield in the next few weeks.
The light still has six thousand more miles to travel before the end of April.
