Stolen Deputy Truck Leaves Four Hospitalized

Updated:

An accident involving a stolen Neosho County Kansas Sheriff's Office truck leaves four people hospitalized.

The Sheriff's Office says a deputy was responding to a report of a fight when a suspect stole his truck. A short time later the Kansas Highway Patrol responded to this crash near Moran. The stolen truck had hit another vehicle carrying a Kansas city family of four in town visiting relatives in Erie. All four were taken to area hospitals.

The father and one daughter have been released from the hospital. The other daughter is still in the hospital but family members say she is expected to be released on Thursday. The mother is improving and could be released from the I.C.U. shortly.

The suspect is in custody in the Allen county jail. Kansas authorities are investigating the incident.
