MSSU holding contest to find lyrics for its fight song

It's your chance to become part of Missouri Southern State University history.

MSSU is holding a contest to find the perfect lyrics for its fight song. The music was composed decades ago but it has never had lyrics.

MSSU has posted the music on its website, along with contest rules.

The university wants lyrics that are positive and inspirational.

"It should be spirited, it should be cheering for your team, not against another one, cheering for them, it should have some historical reference to Southern, talk about the Lions," says MSSU Athletic Director Jared Bruggeman.

The deadline to enter the contest if February 1.
