Lost Oswego Dog Returns Home After Long Journey

Updated:

A dog that lives is Oswego Kansas is back home after mysteriously disappearing and being dropped in sunny California.

Nikki and Ty Lewis play with Rascal their jack russell terrier. They picked him up from the Tulsa airport Saturday night after his 15 hundred mile journey back home.

The Lewis' let Rascal out for a run Thanksgiving weekend and he didn't come back. Six weeks later he turned up at a San Diego animal shelter. A woman brought him there saying she found him in Kansas but her landlord in California wouldn't let her keep him.

Rascal's ID tag listed his owner as the Lewis family in Oswego which led to a surprising call.

"We really skeptical because we thought after a whole month we thought how could that possibly be? but after talking with them they were very believable so we thought good deal he is going to make it back" says Nikki Lewis.

A national animal charity paid for Rascal's plane ride home.
