Marquis Addison named MIAA Men's Basketball Player of the Week

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Missouri Southern junior guard Marquis Addison has been named the MIAA Men's Basketball Player of the Week, the league announced today. 

Addison helped the Lions to a 1-1 record this week beginning with a  one-point overtime loss to Northwest Missouri. In the game, Addison played 43 of 45 minutes, scoring 24 points and adding seven rebounds. He went 8-14 from the field and 7-7 from the free-throw line. In the Lions 95-69 win over Missouri Western, Addison helped the team tie a school record with 15 three pointers in the game including knocking down four of his own.

He played 30 minutes with 22 points and ten rebounds while dishing out three assists and going 8-13 from the field. On the week Addison averaged 23 points, 8.5 rebounds, 2.5 Assists and shot .590 from the field and was a perfect 9-9 from the free-throw line. The 6-4 junior guard is a native of Olathe, Kan. where he competed at Olathe South High School.
