Joplin's mayor is honored with a leadership award

Joplin Mayor Melodee Colbert-Kean has been named as a recipient of the Martin Luther King Jr. State Celebration Commission's Year 2013 Leadership Award.

The commission is giving her the award for the mayor's achievements and efforts to exemplify Dr. King's ideals and commitments.
