Neosho, Missouri has received a $210,000 grant to extend it's pedestrian-bicycle trail network.
The grant is through the Missouri Department of Transportation and the improvement project would consist of replacing and upgrading sidewalks, and possibly create a neighborhood park on Park Street at the old Benton School site.
The project would extend the current trail system by over 2,700 feet.
"I think they improve the quality of life, it allows more things and activities for our citizens to get out there and walk the trails or bike the trails, and just to get out and enjoy nature," says Neosho City Manager Troy Royer.
The local share of the project's cost would be a little under $70,000.
