In the medical world, time stamping, or proof of the time and date something was sent or created, can be important when communicating with clients, employees or even attorneys.

With newly developed and improved type of software called electronic medical records, or EMR, physical therapy offices all around the world are becoming more and more efficient in the work place and part of the credit for that success goes to the simple act of time stamping.
Although time stamping is not a new concept in the digital world, it does seem to have just been implemented into the world of physical therapy software. Chhoda continues to say that time stamping can be used as a tracking tool as well for both employees and patients. The software can easily take this part of the program to analyze productivity at certain periods throughout the day or specific days throughout the week, which most likely would result in a more efficient work environment for employees and clients.
Chhoda adds, “Although the staff should know that you will be using the physical therapy software to track productivity, they should not feel that they are being monitored and threatened with punishment. Let everyone know that you don’t expect them to do their jobs differently right away. In fact, physical therapy software and practice management should be able to communicate to staff members that the purpose of reporting and productivity management is to improve the productivity of the entire practice.”
By letting the staff knows that this is simply to use as a tool to improve business and not critique their performance can make a massive difference in attitude towards this new software. It can be frustrating and difficult to learn new software or even become accustomed to it. Telling staff that this is for efficiency purposes and not scrutinizing purposes will encourage the new program and not discourage staff from learning the new software.
