Pittsburg commissioners approve investment for new indoor event facility

The Pittsburg city commission approved this evening a multi-million dollar investment from the city for a new indoor event facility at Pittsburg State.

The commission approved to provide a total of $5 million over a 20 year period.

The project is a public-private partnership between the city and PSU. The full cost of the project would be $17 million, part of PSU's $61 million worth of improvement projects.

City commissioners also approved an plan to apply for a Transportation Enhancement Program Grant that would help fund a new bike and hiking trail.
