Court order issued at Parsons railcar manufacturer

Updated:

A Kansas business had a hectic morning as the sheriff's department showed up with a court order.

The Labette County sheriff's department today received a court order concerning property at Kanza Services in Parsons.

Very few details have been released but crews were at the railcar manufacturer's plant all day hauling company vehicles and equipment.

Labette County Sheriff Robert Sims says employees were cleared from the site as a precaution.

"Routinely we will secure depending on the nature of the writ, or the court order, we will secure the location.," says Sheriff Sims.  "In this case we did do so.  We did request the employees vacate the location for the time being.  They are expected to return tomorrow for business hours."

Employees we spoke with today said they were on the property for a few hours but were then asked to leave without any details as to why.
