Many area school superintendents are reviewing safety procedures after the Sandy Hook shootings.
They weigh in on a local Missouri representative's proposal to allow teachers and administrators to carry concealed weapons. He says it's a right for them to protect themselves and students but he's open to ideas about making sure they're qualified with training.
In this two part special aired January 31 on KOAM News at 6 and 10 reporter Lisa Olliges learned more about the proposal, talked to teachers to learn how they feel about carrying concealed weapons and looked at security measures some districts are adding or improving to keep kids safe in school.
