Nevada Boy helps Orphans Overseas

A little boy's garage sale helps raise money for orphaned females in India.

C. J. Mitchell of Nevada organized a garage sale with a goal of raising $500 thousand dollars for the Rose of Sharon Project.

Mitchell got the idea when he heard a friend, Steve Dean returned from a hunting trip with a story of abandoned young girls in India with no homes and he wanted to help. Items for sale were donated by the community, including clothing, toys and house wares.

Mitchell says he hopes others will get involved in the Rose of Sharon Project.

"It was my idea. I thought that the girls should need a home so that we could build an orphanage for them" says Mitchell.

Mitchell hopes to travel to India on the next trip to formally meet the girls and assist in building the orphanage.
