Several stores at Pittsburg Mall take a snow day

Updated:

Only four businesses opened Thursday at Meadowbrook Mall in Pittsburg:  the Mall Deli, Del Rio, Pittsburg 8 movie theater and Goody's were in business.

Some stores left signs on their doors explaining they closed because of the weather.

Some of the stores that opened said they opened for customers needing emergency supplies or just something to do.

"We figured, might be there's a customer who's looking for some ice scrapers or like heavy coats just to get through the really bad weather, that's the reason we're open," says Goody's manager Tony Zhang.

"Schools are out - to give them something to do," says Krystal Prado, the Assistant Manager for the Pittsburg 8.

Prado also says it's important to open if it's possible.
