
Empire District Electric seeks a rate hike for its Missouri customers.
On Friday the utility filed an agreement with the Public Service Commission that if approved allows an annual increase in base revenues of $27.5 million dollars. After reductions for fuel adjustments that means a 4.7% rate hike for customers.
For the average home that could increase a monthly bill by $5.60. If approved the new rates would take affect April 1st 2013.
