Peoria Ridge Golf Course Groundbreaking

Updated:

One local Indian tribe is celebrating a groundbreaking that's been 10 years in the works.

The Peoria Ridge Golf Course and the Peoria Tribe celebrated a groundbreaking for a state of the art clubhouse Saturday morning. It will include features such as 175 capacity banquet facility, men's and women's locker rooms, an improved pro shop, a bar and grill and club storage.

The tribe hopes taking small steps to begin the clubhouse will yield big results for the northeast Oklahoma community.

"Just been basically taking small steps looking at providing growth in our community and also additional rooftops on a piece of property that is a beautiful layout" says Chief John Froman.

The tribe anticipates to have the clubhouse construction completed by September.
