Getting Pitt students who live on campus to the dining hall is priority number one

Pittsburg State University officials say they will use as much as 200 bags of ice melt to pre-treat campus sidewalks and entrances.

Their main concern is making sure students living on campus can get to the dining hall.

"Our first priority is making sure that our students in the dormitories or student housing can get to Gibson Dining Hall, that's our number one priority, and then after that we kind of spread out and do the main area of campus," says Cate Breneman, PSU's campus landscaping architect.

Pittsburg State University is suspending night classes tonight at 6:30pm.  Overnight will decide what to do about classes on Tuesday and if they cancel they will have it posted by 6 a.m.
