A local health event helps keep residents up to date on important screenings.
Thursday was the 15th consecutive year for the Freeman Advantage Annual Health Screening. For $10 Freeman provides a number of health tests ranging from glucose and cholesterol levels to blood pressure and bone density.
"Any adult needs to know what their basic levels are, whether that may be they need to know their blood pressure, they need to know what their cholesterol levels are, everyone needs a good baseline and so this type of screening gives you that baseline and then if you do it yearly it just gives you a good check of how healthy your body is," says screen team supervisor Shelby Allen.
Freeman estimates there were about 300 participants for today's screenings.
