Another celebration marks the rebuilding of a structure destroyed by the tornado.
The Goodwill Store held a ribbon cutting ceremony Thursday for it's grand reopening. Before the store even opened a line of people had already formed outside.
The new building is in the same location as the original on Range Line Road after relocating to a temporary in Carthage. But officials decided to keep that location open as well.
They say the plan has always been to rebuild in Joplin.
"We have a tremendous team that work for us here in Joplin and our commitment to them from the very first time we met after the tornado was that one way or another we would come back and be bigger and better than before," says David Oliver, President of Goodwill Industries of Tulsa.
The store and donation center are open Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. and Sunday from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.
