Joplin students helping to design student spirit store

Students in Joplin Schools gifted program are helping with the design of the student spirit store at the new high school under construction.

It's part of a design learning project.

The students met with other Joplin High School students to review the design plans for the new building, review the spirit store design and visual merchandising websites.

"I thought they should put a sign up outside the door because there isn't one right now and people would notice it more," says fifth grade student Samuel Peterson.

The students also toured Northpark Mall and will take information gathered and work on design ideas for the new spirit store.
