Pittsburg Siren Upgrades

Improvements for storm ready systems are going into place in Pittsburg.

New storm sirens are being installed with back up batteries.  Three new sirens will be in place, because they could not be converted over to the new technology.

Another addition will be a central station controller that can test the sirens weekly or daily silently.

"I think it's a really nice thing being down here at the park you just never know when a storms going to hit down here so it would be nice because electricity goes out down here quite a bite so it'll be nice to have a backup" says Pittsburg resident Donald Haves.

Testing will be done this upcoming Monday and Tuesday, you will hear a burst of sound.

    John L. Gagliardo, 60, Pittsburg, Kan., and George Washington, 50, Pittsburg, Kan., are charged with two counts of attempted mail fraud and two counts of attempted wire fraud. In addition, Gagliardo is charged with 10 counts of making false statements to the FBI. The crimes are alleged to have occurred in 2010 and 2011 in Crawford County, Kan.
