It's not quite baseball weather but it is the time to get registered to play. Kids with disabilities with have the opportunity this summer to play baseball at The Miracle Field.
It's at the Joplin Athletic Complex and was constructed by Joplin Rotarians and the Keller Williams Foundation.
A special surface makes it safe for kids with wheelchairs or walkers and openings to the dugouts are wider.
Organizers say each team will have two coaches for the six-week season and the ball players don't have to already know how to play the game.
"There's no baseball skill necessary to start so the kids will just come out, have fun, they'll get some instruction from their coaches and they'll also be helped by volunteers we call buddies who will be available to help them hit and run the bases if they need it," says Miracle Field Board Member Louise Secker.
The deadline to register is March 15. To register or for more information visit http://joplinmiracleleague.org/
