Another Joplin family gets a new home

It's a special day for another family affected by the May 2011 tornado.  Wes and Rena Lamar are the proud new owners of a home on Illinois Avenue.

Rebuild Joplin and many volunteers helped with the project.

Wes and Rena spent two years living in a tent, RV, and other temporary housing.

"It is a big deal to me, I came here every day to talk to them and cheer them on," says Rena.

"This is the best part of our job, to see a family come in our door, filled out an application and this is the result of it," says Doreen Finnie of Rebuild Joplin.  "To see this one more family go home we are thrilled to death."

The family plans to plant a garden among other projects at their new home.
