Crews called to vehicle on fire in Pittsburg

Pittsburg fire crews responded to a vehicle fully engulfed in flames at 15th and Broadway on Wednesday at around 11:30 a.m.

Authorities say the driver smelled something odd, drove a few blocks, then noticed his feet getting hot.  He looked down, saw smoke, pulled over and got out as the fire engulfed the SUV.

Thankfully no one was injured.

The siren located on west Jothi Ave. (southwestern edge of town) has been reported to the storm siren technician for repair. The rest are working including the one at Lake Parsons.
